Glen Turner

Glen is a self-taught, Christchurch-based artist who works from The Lobe, a collective space in the city’s heart. His art revolves around breathing new life into recycled and sustainable materials, with a particular focus on locally sourced timber from the Canterbury region. By working with a diverse array of reclaimed wood, Glen creates striking artworks that highlight the natural hues, textures, and unique characteristics of each species.

His pieces have a story to tell—many of the timbers used in his work are salvaged from post-earthquake demolitions, family home renovations, and discarded furniture. Glen carefully selects and combines these materials in a distinctive, organic process, forgoing traditional sketches or plans.
