Painting from her studio in Maraetai, Auckland, Kirsty loves to unleash colour, shape, line, and form to create refreshing, expressive abstract artworks, transporting the viewer to another place, to other memories.
My aim, as an artist, is to engage viewers by creating a sense of escapade, of romping across the canvas with joyful abandon.
I invite viewers into a narrative landscape where they can explore, connect, and discover their own stories within the artwork. Growing up around the world, my travels, vivid imagination, and lifelong love of abstract art inspire my practice.
Influenced by early 20th-century European and Russian movements, my studies at Otago University deepened my appreciation for these styles. Now based in Maraetai, Auckland, I paint from my studio and have been a finalist in multiple notable art awards.
